Abstract:In the tourism industry, a growing consumer niche is comprised by people with disabilities (henceforth as: p-w-ds). Based on a couple of indicators, the market share of disabled tourism is worth about USD 117 billion annually. The amount of p-w-ds. within the EU population is 27 million. However, the tourism industry has not yet found a coordinated way to serve this population.
Herein, it is shown that the process of changing perception of tourism students towards p-w-ds. is relatively simple. According to the experiment, a set of topics on the disabled have the possibility of improving students' attitudes towards p-w-ds. as tourists.
