Abstract:This article investigates the reasons behind some Big Four alumni choosing to benefit their former firms, referred to as post-employment citizenship. Organizational fairness foreshadows organizational support, which foreshadows organizational commitment. Organizational commitment, in turn, predicts post-employment citizenship. These findings are based on social exchange theory and their implications and limitations are discussed.
