| Tiivistelmä (eng): | The purpose of the thesis is to present ideas for developing the areas northeast of the Lake Bodom in northern Espoo. The central goal of the planning process was to come up with solutions for the housing areas, which rely on natural stormwater management. In the thesis this strating-point has been implemented on a regional planning level. In this case it makes it possible to define the size and the borders of the actual planning area on the basis of an entire watershed. The goal is also to adapt these solutions to the existing town structure and to take the culturally and historically significant landscape into concideration in the plan. The analysis considers the whole of the Bodom and Rödskog region. Studies on the culturally -historic landscape resulted in a chapter, concerning the old and particularly interesting place-names in the area. The study area is 314 ha in size and it includes housing for approximately 4500 inhabitants. The majority of the housing areas in the plan are designated for detached- and single family houses. The layout of the thesis follows the form of a regular plan-report. The illustrative material of the plan is presented with 9 boards. |
