Tiivistelmä (eng): | Much attention has been paid to routing in ad hoc networks. On the other hand, micro mobility protocols are designed for the mobility problem in wireless networks. In this thesis, we adopt a micro mobility protocol, Cellular IPv6 (CIPv6), into hybrid ad hoc networks in order to reuse the good characteristics of micro mobility protocols. The proposed mobile ad hoc network (MANET) infrastructure is a new self-organizing, self-routing MANET structure, which supports high mobility, global connections, and movements between different MANETs. Our proposed self-organizing protocol automatically organizes mobile nodes in a MANET into a tree topology. The tree topology is updated by initiative tree topology update and passive tree topology update according to the movement of mobile nodes. Unicast routing protocol is designed based on the tree topology. We have implemented the system in a simulation environment. Measurements are done to show the efficiency of the initiative tree topology update in high mobility situations. A solution of secure routing is proposed based on the security analysis on the routing protocol. |
