| Tiivistelmä (fin): | Diplomityön aihe on kaupunkitalo saman perheen kolmen eri sukupolven edustajalle; isoäidille, tämän tyttärelle ja hänen pojalleen. Tontti sijaitsee Fukuokan kaupungissa Lounais-Japanissa. Tilaohjelmaan kuuluu perheen yhteisiä ja yksityisiä tiloja, perheen koirien hoito- ja koulutusmahdollisuudet, kolme pysäköintipaikkaa sekä ulosvuokrattava toimistotila, nämä sijoitettuna 500 neliömetrin tontille. Vieraaseen kulttuuriin ja ilmastoon suunnittelu edellyttää paikallisiin olosuhteisiin, sekä perinteiseen ja nykyarkkitehtuuriin tutustumista. Merkittävä osa tätä projektia on ollut paikallisiin olosuhteisiin, tapoihin ja sääntöihin tutustumista. Tontti sijaitsee Najiman kaupunginosassa, joka on määritelty Neighbourhood Commercial Zoneksi paikallisessa kaavassa. Alueella on sekaisin asumista, kaupallisia toimintoja sekä pienteollisuutta. Tontin ympärillä oleva miljöö asettaa vaikeita haasteita mukavalle asumiselle tontilla, minkä vuoksi rakennusmassat seuraavat tontin rajoja, jättäen mahdollisimman paljon tilaa tontin keskelle. Sisätilat sijoittuvat kahden eriluonteisen sisäpihan ympärille: toinen pihoista on aktiviteettipiha ja toinen hiljaisempi japanilaistyylinen puutarha. Katolle sijoitetut ulkotilat lisäävät asumismukavuutta ja tarjoavat pitkiä näkymiä naapuritalojen yli. Toimivat usean sukupolven asumisjärjestelyt edellyttävät yksityisten ja yhteisten tilojen sopivaa suhdetta. Keskeisesti sijoitetut yhteistilat mahdollistavat eri sukupolvien välisen päivittäisen sosiaalisen kanssakäymisen. Jokaisella sukupolvella on kuitenkin myös oma yksityinen reviirinsä talon sisällä. Toimistotilat on myös mahdollista ottaa perheen käyttöön. Talo on rakennettu paikalla valetusta betonista ja sen ulkoseinät ovat pääsääntöisesti kantavia. Tontti ja sitä ympäröivä alue on määrätty kaavassa Quasi-Fire Protection Districtiksi, minkä vuoksi betoni on luonteva materiaali rakennuksen rakenneratkaisuksi. Viherkatot antavat lisäsuojaa ilmaston ääri-ilmiöitä vastaan, sekä tekevät kattotason näkymistä miellyttävämpiä. Työn laajuustietoja:. Kerrosluku: 3+kellari. | Tiivistelmä (eng): | The theme of this diploma work is an urban house for three adult members of a family from three different generations: a son, a mother and a grandmother. The project is located in Fukuoka, the main city on the island of Kyushu in South- Western Japan. The design brief consists of private and shared rooms for the family members, facilities for taking care of the family's dogs, three parking places and a commercial office space that can be rented out, all on a site of approximately 500 m2. Designing a house in an unfamiliar culture and climate requires studying the local traditions and current tendencies in residential architecture. Trying to get familiar with the local context, culture and rules in Fukuoka and in Japan in general has been a significant part of the project. The site is in the Najima neighbourhood, a Neighbourhood Commercial Zone located roughly five kilometres from the city centre. Residential and commercial buildings mix in with light industries in the area. As a consequence the immediate surroundings of the site pose environmental challenges for comfortable living. The building volumes of the project follow the property borders closely in order to maximize the available open space at the centre of the site. The internal spaces are gathered around two courtyards with different characters: an activity courtyard and a quieter Japanese garden. Rooftop outdoor spaces are also provided for added comfort and long views over the neighbours. The living arrangements of an extended or a multi- generation family are more complicated than those of a stereotypical nuclear family. Issues like an appropriate balance between privacy and social interaction become especially important when three adults with their own lifestyles and personal histories are sharing a house or a property. In this project each generation is provided with their own private quarters and the shared living areas bring the different generations together. The commercial office space can also be taken into use by the family, if needed. The house is mainly built of in-situ concrete. The external walls are mainly load-bearing. The zoning rules dictate the area as a Quasi- Fire Protection District and concrete is therefore a suitable structural solution for the house frame. Green roofs provide added protection against the elements and make the rooftop view of the house more attractive. Quantitative information of the project:. Number of floors: 3 + basement.
