| Tiivistelmä (fin): | Hyvinkään Villatehdas on 1900-luvun alun tekstiiliteollisuuden rakentamista edustava entinen tehdaskortteli, jossa on nykyään mm. toimistoja, käsityötuotantoa, ravintolatoimintaa, kulttuuri- ja harrastustiloja, tukkukauppa ja kirpputori. Tehtaalle on myös suunnitteilla kulttuurikeskus ja Hyvinkään kaupungintalo on siirtymässä tehtaan tiloihin. Tehdaskiinteistöä hallinnoi Kiinteistö Oy Hyvinkään Wanha Villatehdas, jonka omistaa Hyvinkään kaupunki. Villatehtaan alue avautui kaupunkilaisille 1990-luvun alussa, kun viimeinenkin villateollisuuden tuotantotoiminta tiloissa loppui. Siitä lähtien on tehdasalueen tulevaisuutta ja rakennusten uudelleenkäyttöä suunniteltu, mutta tehdaskorttelin ulkotiloista ei ollut tähän mennessä tehty mitään kokonaisvaltaista suunnitelmaa. Nyt kun tehdaskiinteistön kehityksessä on meneillään suuria muutoksia, on myös piha-alueiden kehittämismahdollisuuksiin alettu kiinnittää huomiota. Diplomityö on tehty tilaustyönä Villatehtaan kiinteistöyhtiölle. Villatehdas on valtakunnallisesti merkittävä kulttuurihistoriallinen ympäristö ja suurin osa sen rakennuksista sekä sisäpihan puisto ovat kaavalla suojeltuja. Työn tärkeimpänä periaatteena on Villatehtaan alueen ympäristön kulttuurihistoriallisen arvon säilyttäminen. Tästä lähtökohdasta työssä on myös tutkittu tehtaan piha-alueiden historiaa ja niiden kulttuurihistoriallisen arvon muodostumista. Tehdasrakennuksista on aikaisemmin tehty rakennushistoriallinen selvitys, jota tämä työ pyrkii täydentämään korttelin ulkotilojen osalta. Kulttuurihistoriallisen arvon määrittelyyn liittyen tehdasta tarkastellaan myös suhteessa laajempaan maisemakokonaisuuteen sekä osana Hyvinkään historiaa. Työn suunnitelmaosio kokoaa yhteen Villatehtaan nykyisen ja visioidun käytön ja pyrkii muodostamaan kokonaisvaltaisen yleissuunnitelman piha-alueista näitä toimintoja tukevina ulkotiloina. Piha-alueiden kehittämissuunnitelman päätavoitteena on luoda nykyiset tekniset vaatimukset täyttävää, monikäyttöistä ulkotilaa vaalien kuitenkin samalla alueen kulttuurihistoriallista arvoa. Suunnittelun yleisinä tavoitteina on luoda esteetöntä ja viihtyisää ympäristöä. Kehittämissuunnitelma keskittyy tehdaskorttelin kahteen tärkeimpään ulkotilaan: tehdaskorttelin sisäpihaan ja takapihaan. Tehtaan sisäpihalla on 1930-luvun alussa istutettu puisto ja sisäpihan suunnitelma keskittyykin tämän kulttuurihistoriallisesti arvokkaan ympäristön säilyttämiseen ja ennallistamiseen. Sisäpihaa suunnitellaan myös kehitettäväksi tapahtumapaikkana. Tehtaan takapiha puolestaan on nykyisellään suurelta osin pysäköintialuetta ja heikosti hyödynnettyä joutomaata. Takapihan alueelle on visioitu täydennysrakentamista ja maanalaista paikoitushallia. Pihaa ympäröiviin rakennuksiin on suunniteltu kulttuuri- ja vapaa-ajan toimintoja ja mm. tiloja kaupungin taidemuseolle. Kehittämissuunnitelmassa takapihasta on muodostettu monikäyttöinen aukio ja taidepiha. Takapihan alueelle on tulossa myös Villatehtaan tiloihin siirtyvän Hyvinkään kaupungintalon etupiha. |
| Tiivistelmä (eng): | The Wool Factory in Hyvinkää is a former factory quarter representing the textile industry's architecture from the beginning of the 20th century. Nowadays the area contains offices, manufacture, a restaurant, cultural and recreational spaces, wholesale and second hand stores among other things. Plans have been made to set up a cultural centre to the factory and the town hail of Hyvinkää is about to be relocated at the factory as well. The factory real estate is run by the property company Kiinteistö Oy Hyvinkään Wanha Villatehdas, which is owned by the town of Hyvinkää. The factory area was opened to the public at the beginning of the 1990's once the wool industry's production was finally run down. Since then, there have been many plans about the future uses of the factory buildings. However, there hasn't been any comprehensive plan made for the future development of the outdoor areas of the factory quarter. As the factory estate is currently going through a lot of changes, a new interest has risen for the potential of the factory courtyards. This thesis is a commission of the Wool Factory's property company. The Wool Factory is a nationally remarkable site of cultural heritage (defined by the National Board of Antiquities and Historical Monuments) and it's under conservation. The main principle of the thesis is to maintain the cultural and historical values of the old factory milieu. On this basis there's a small study done on the history of the factory's outdoor areas of the factory and the formation of value of cultural heritage. This research intends to add up information on the outdoor areas to the earlier research on the history of the factory buildings. Regarding to the definition of cultural heritage the factory is also viewed as a part of local history as well as in relation to wider contexts. The planning section of the thesis pulls together the existent and visionary employment of the factory site and endeavours to lay out a comprehensive development plan for the outdoor areas supporting these future functions. The main aim of the courtyard areas' development plan is to build up modern, multifunctional outdoor spaces while preserving the historical and cultural values of the place. General objective is to create pleasant and accessible outdoor environment. The development plan focuses on the two main outdoor spaces of the factory quarter: the inner court and the backyard. The inner court is a garden plant out in the beginning of the 1930's and the development plan here concentrates on preserving and restoring the historical milieu. The inner court is also being developed as a place for events. The factory backyard on the other hand serves currently mostly as a car park and isn't used to its full potential. Plans have been made of new supplementary building and an underground parking space on the backyard. In the future visions the surrounding buildings are used for cultural and recreational functions and the yard is planned to be a multifunctional square-like art courtyard. The front yard of the new town hall will also be situated in the present backyard. |
