Tiivistelmä (eng): | Wind Power markets witness a global growth. Wind power generator manufacturers compete for market share with new products, promising better efficiency and fast deliveries. The ambitious and tight product development schedules increase the risk for errors and potentially costly quality failures and customer claims. New manufacturing units around the world do not make things easier. As a countermeasure, help is sought from the quality teachings of the automotive industry. The objective of this study is to establish a system for the quality assurance of wind power generator product development projects. In the theoretical input suitable tools and techniques for serial production quality assurance are picked from the quality standard ISO/TS- 16949. A quality assurance system is established from these teachings. The developed quality assurance system involves five sectors that according to this thesis, define the quality of the product. This quality assurance system is designed for a new product series on which there lays great expectations. A risk assessment tool, FMEA, is introduced with the aim of integrating it to all new product development projects at all manufacturing units. The tool was presented and implemented at the Shanghai factory in China, where the first machine of the new series was manufactured. To speed up the use of the tool EM EA and improve the communication and collaboration between different manufacturing units, there is a suggestion put forward, that in addition to doing that. It also would compile all related product and process development efforts to a common database, thus benefiting all concerned units. |
