Tiivistelmä:Many companies acknowledge the importance of concentrating on the most promising fields of business activity. This concentration often demands a new strategy. Unfortunately, the new strategy does not always get the necessary opportunity to guide managerial action. Because of the lack of an appropriate conversion procedure it is keptin drawer. The burdens and problems of a strategy conversion are described and analyzed. The case example of a Swiss company - Walliser Werke Alusuisse - is presented. It is shown how a production-oriented strategy can be replaced by a customer-oriented strategy. Another case example illustrates how an insurance company can increase its market share by specialization.
