Tiivistelmä: | The authors propose specific hypotheses relating assessments of reputation to various information signals about a firm's asset management performance, specifically using accounting and market signals which indicate size of assets, market assessment of the value of the assets in place, asset turnover and profit margin. This hypotheses is supported by the results of an empirical study of 114 large US firms. The results are the following. Corporate audiences tend to assign higher (better) reputation to firms with: 1) bigger size as measured by total assets , 2) asset turnover ratio, and 3) a high profit margin ratio. |
