Tiivistelmä: | The cooking, sauces market has experienced tremendous growth over the last five years, with wet cooking sauces outperforming dry sauce mixes, which are in long term decline. The market for cooking sauces grew from 95 m of pounds sterling in 1988 to 186m of pounds sterling in 1992. The success of the wet cooking sauce sector is primarily due to the growth in importance of glass jars as a packaging format. There is a move away from the more traditional oven cooking towards cooking on the hob, which is one of the reasons why stir fry sauces have proved popular. Oriental sauces have doubled their share of the wet cooking sauce market since 1989 from 7% to 14%. |
