| Tiivistelmä: | The use of aromatic hydrocarbon made from coal tar was a precondition for the development of the coal tar dye production in the German chemical industry. The first tar refinery plant in Germany that was established 150 years ago by Ernst Sell in Offenbach has contributed a lot to the development. Today the plant is known as Hoechst AG. |
