Tiivistelmä:Recent Canadian legislation requires all employees to undergo safety training. Most companies surveyed here had some or all of their workforce trained - virtually free - by an outside agency. Some, however, relied primarily on their own instructors, who were thereby able to impart more tailor-made training and appear to have achieved better results. The latter firms already offered better working conditions, had greater management involvement in safety work and more safety activities than companies opting for other training strategies.
