Tiivistelmä:The writers identify statistically significant differencies between new independent owner-managed businesses established by two types of founders: 'novice' and 'habitual' entrepreneurs. Novice founders were defined as those individuals with no previous experience of founding a business while habitual founders had established at least one other business prior to the current new venture. Results indicate that habitual founders are younger than their counterparts and they used personal savings, which suggests that previous experience can be an asset rather than a liability.
