| Tiivistelmä: | It is commonly accepted that "free markets" existed to some extent in the USSR in the 1920s. This article attempts to test this proposition through correlation analysis of commodity price movements over various regions of the USSR. It also examines the amount of goods traded on "free markets" and the various types of trade which existed at this time. Due to problems with the data utilized, the conclusions should be regarded as preliminary. |
