| Tiivistelmä: | The problem of multimachine replacement in a serially dependent production system was proposed and carefully studied by Trippi and Khumawala (1975) within the more general framework of multi-asset renewal. An integer programming formulation was developed to determine the machine replacement schedule which minimized total related expenses over a finite horizon. In this paper, the authors propose a more compact integer programming reformulations whose optimal solution solves a generalized Trippi and Khumawala multimachine replacement problem. |
