| Tiivistelmä: | Share prices in Russia have long been as unpredictable as the country's politics. Now there are signs that, on both counts , things are beginning to change. The fact that the government of Viktor Chernomyrdin, Russia's prime minister, survived a no-confidence vote in parliament on July 1st has delighted supporters of economic reform. Recent and forthcoming changes in the structure of Russia's stockmarket should similarly delight foreign and local investors. |
