| Tiivistelmä: | It is not uncommon to find warehouse designs consisting of incremental sections of rack and shelving that were added over the years to compensate for additional storage requirements. Such a design makes it difficult to get the right product to the right place at the right time. As operating parameters such as sales, inventory levels, product lines, and ordering profiles change over time, the design of the warehouse needs to be evaluated to ensure that it meets business needs. This means that warehouse configuration should be adjusted on a regular basis to meet changing requirements. |
