Tiivistelmä:Jiangsu' retail markets of consumer goods are becoming dominated by higher-level consumption in conveniences , entertainment and housing, known as the comparatively well- off life, instead of consumption in such daily necessities as food, clothes and fuel, known as the have-enough-to-eat- and-wear-only life. People prefer nutritions food, smart clothing, fashionable conveniences and comfortable houses. However, Gaps remain between urban and rural areas, between the north and south, and between the upper class and lower class. The biggest gap exists between southern and northern rural areas. Suppose the per capita income of peasants in Northern Jiangsu is one, the ratio of Southern Jiangsu and Central Jiangsu to Northern Jiangsu is 2.46:1.49:1.
