| Tiivistelmä: | Asia's steel output reached 0.2516 billion tons in 1994, 0.26 billion tons in 1995 and is expected to increase to 0.267 billion tons in 1996. The consumption of steel products in that area was 0.2837 billion tons in 1995 and will increase to 0.2972 billion tons in 1996. The import and export trade of steel products in Asian countries is carried out mainly within that area. According to forecast, in the first quarter of this year, the prices of steel products on Asian market will keep downward but rise in the second and the third quarters. In the fourth quarter, they will slide down due to over supply. |
