| Tiivistelmä: | By the end of 1995, there were 138 operational foreign funded financial institutions, and 477 offices in China. 24 cities had been opened to foreign banks. To permit foreign banks to take on business in RMB might result in the following problems: 1. Chinese and foreign banks will receive equal treatment in the opened area; 2. China's commercial banks will face fierce market competition; 3. a 40 percent rate of unemployment will occur; 4. operation of monetary policies of the central bank will be in a worse dilemma; 5. residents will take financial risks; 6. shortage of fund of underdeveloped areas will get worse. |
