| Tiivistelmä: | Profitability is by far the most common objective and measure of performance in Western companies. It can be expressed as a absolute measure of profit or as a ratio such as earnings per share, return on investment or return on shareholder's funds. In this article the shortcomings of the conventional indicators of performance will be reviewed and Strategic Value Analysis (SVA) will be introduced. How it can be used is demonstrated with reference to its application in evaluating a Chinese joint venture opportunity. |
