| Tiivistelmä: | This article investigates the empirical evidence on the relationship between financial development and economic growth with a wiev to identifying outstanding and offering suggestions about how these may be addressed in the future. Some new evidence utilising the proposed approaches is also presented. In connection with the relationship between financial development and growth , the relationship between the latter and stock market development is examined. New evidence on the direct effects of financial repression, using the example of South Korea, in relation to financial liberalisation, is offered. |
