| Tiivistelmä: | During last few years operational research (OR) has extended its scope to include environmental applications. Operational researchers have become sensitive about environmental issues and also increasingly equipped with the knowledge of OR methods and techniques, which they apply in environmental protection projects in which they are involved. Many environmental applications appearing in non purely OR technical journals involve OR methodology. This goes along with the increasing awareness and sensitivity exhibited by the society regarding the various threats against environment. |
