Tiivistelmä:In the early 1990s, the Chinese government took machine building, electronics, auto, petrochemical and building industries as the cross-century pillar industries and gave full support to them. Thus, they have developed rapidly since then. For the machine building industry, for instance, its average growth rate of total output value from 1981 to 1995 stood at 16%, higher than the industrial growth rate in the same period. But they are facing such problems as shortage of funds, the separation of regions and departments and irrational scale structure of enterprises. As the above industries belong to technology-intensive industries, the contradiction of market supply and demand and the issue of product and technological innovation, in particular are conspicuous.
