| Tiivistelmä: | GDP grew by 8.8% in 1997. The ranges of consumer price and retail price increases were controlled at not more than 2.8% and 0.8% respectively. And the economic operation presented a "high growth but low inflation" virtuous development situation. On the premise of no major adjustment of macro economic policy, the price trend in 1998 will depend on the change in the agricultural production situation to a great extent. If agricultural production remains unchanged or increases, price will fluctuate by a narrow margin. If agricultural production decreases duo to natural disasters, price will present downward trend in the first half of the year and upward trend in the second half of the year. |
