| Tiivistelmä: | The economic recovery in the fifteen member states of the European Union seems to be well on track, after most member states had experienced a slowdown in activity in 1996. However, there was some relaxation in the rate of economic expansion in the European Union during the third quarter of 1997, after the buoyant rise in activity in the previous quarter. Real GDP in the European Union is estimated to have rised by 0.5% between the second and third quarters of 1997. |
