| Tiivistelmä: | This article discusses the impact of government regulation on the power advantages enjoyed by buyers and suppliers in dyadic exchange interactions. From a supply chain management perspective, it is vital to understand such advantages and the impact of government regulation upon them, because the gains from trade in buyer-supplier interactions can often be explained by a focus on the power context in which a transaction takes place. This article examines this crucial distinction between the creative and the disruptive impact of government on buyer and supplier power. First, the key differences between creative and disruptive government regulation are discussed in greater detail. This discussion is followed by two case examples designed to illustrate each type of government regulation. |
