Tiivistelmä:The author considers the industrial heritage. The author has suggested that it is precisely in the interplay between the practice of business and the firm in which it is embedded, in the inter-play between internal and external goods, that exciting possibilities exist for business and fo business ethics. Inevitably, such a concentration on excellence in the practice and the development of virtuous firms would have an impact on the capitalist business world as we know it. It would be precisely in the application of virtue within business-as-practice, and in the development of virtuous firms which, quite literally, incorporate virtue, that some sort of progress towards the kind of society Macintyre envisages would be achieved.
