Tiivistelmä:The author state that international companies should plan their human resource policy to achieve economies of skills, rather than - as is frequently the case - merely implementing ad-hoc decisions. The authors also state that managers on the whole lack mentality, experience and skills to benefit from increasingly difficult and quick changing international challenges. Therefore, the international environment tends to be for these managers an insoluble crossword. This article will explore in more depth international HRM policies implemented by a variety of international companies based in The Netherlands. On the basis of the findings of this research study, the authors argue that international success is first and foremost determined by a high quality international HRM policy.
