Tiivistelmä:This paper investigates the relationships among learning orientation (LO), market orientation (MO), human resource practices (HRPs) and innovation (here as: inn.), and their association with organizational performance (here as: org-perf./perf.). The paper aims at showing that HRPs and inn. are important mechanisms for transmitting (here as: m-for-tr.) the benefits (here as: b-fits)of LO and MO into perf. outcomes. A model is developed and tested empirically using survey data collected from 220 businesses. It is found that HRPs are a major m-for-tr. the b-fits of LO and MO. It is also suggested that LO should be viewed as exploration (here as: explr.) while MO is the interface btw. explr. and exploitation (here as: explt.) and, finally, HRPs and inn. must be viewed as explt. or implementation issues.
