Tiivistelmä:The hypothesis that financial problems facing students place fiscal constraints on their holiday experiences is studied in this paper with students at the University of Hertfordshire. Students spent almost two holidays during a 12-month period in 1999-2000. They paid for these vacations for instance by using a combination of personal savings. Results show that the students tended to spend a high proportion of their available finances on tourism and also that students are very active in tourism in spite of the deteriorating financial position.
