Tiivistelmä: | Human capabilities theory has come forward as an important framework for assessing whether various social systems promote human flourishing. The underlying assumption is that human beings are happy if they have the opportunity to excercise their universally shared capabilities. It is argued that the theory can be expanded to evaluating working environments and their ability to enable employees to develop their human capabilities. It complements the work of Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, who has argued that workplaces should provide flow experiences to advance human well-being. |
