Tiivistelmä: | This paper studies the influence of an attitude change toward the sustainable resource use of wild animals existing under a prey-predator relationship. A theoretical model is built using value (price value) and non-use value (e.g. existence value). A numerical simulation is conducted to examine several cases with varying values. Among others, it is reaffirmed that it is important for people to value prey and predators to maintain a viable population. As the willingness-to-pay (WTP) for the prey increases relative to its price, the amount of the resource will be prioritized over the amount of the harvest. The min/max price may be required for resource conservation etc. |
