Tiivistelmä: | The United Kingdom (U.K.) is a valuable case having one of the highest rates of part-time work in Europe. In order to map the different circumstances of women returners to work in the U.K., this study links data on women's education with employers' skill needs and market wage rates. It is examined whether there is a clustering of women returners in low-wage occupations and how this group can be differentiated. It is found that women returners encounter high levels of occupational segregation with these patterns intensifying when working part-time. Thus, women returners working part-time have limited occupational choice etc. |
