| Tiivistelmä: | The various components of working time in Japan - the normal work-week, overtime, annual leave with pay, the retirement age, part-time work - are analyzed. A number of significant trends, some of which are at variance with those found in other OECD countries, are revealed. The differences in working time according to enterprise size, sector, and the sex and age of the workers raise important questions for the future, which are discussed together with government policy and the positions of workers' and employers' organizations on working time issues. |
