| Tiivistelmä: | The development of computer software for risk analysis by BP's Group Engineering and Technical Centre is examined. It is considered why risk analysis is used by BP and a brief history of its use is provided. The techniques used, the development and capabilities of the current software is reviewed. The problems encountered and the way they are reflected in plans for the generation of risk analysis software are discussed. Concluding remarks on some general lessons which may apply to other areas of decision support system development by other developers are provided. |
