Tiivistelmä:A robot installation in a metal industry located in the mid-west is investigated. The impacts of robotization: 1/ workers' displacement, 2/ higher productivity, 3/ new jobs, 4/ changes of work content as well as of labor and working conditions etc. It may protect human beings (e.g. when dealing with hazardous chemicals). Changes in the employment structure. Inconsistencies of the company's economic considerations and the goverments's viewpoints are considered. However, when the displaced employees are relocated, with or without retraining, the robot installation becomes economically desirable from both viewpoints. After the case study description, economic feasibility study, policy recommendations are suggested.
