| Tiivistelmä: | In 1971 UBS (Union Bank of Switzerland) started an integrated real time project with Control Data. By 1974 it became clear that the ambitious UBISCO computer program failed. The bank started an entirely new program. Abacus is a truly integrated and real time program. New application can be added without disturbing the existing applications. It was started in 1977 and finished in 1981. Now the bank introduces new technologies like smart cards, fully automated branches, etc. |
