Flexibility, short production runs and fast changeovers polarise choice to low capital cost dedicated plant, or high capital cost computer numerically controlled machines. Three elements of the business must be satisfied: technology in terms of plant and processes, integration in the sense of information technology and material flows, and the management process itself. |
