| Tiivistelmä: | The major changes that have happened recently in financial markets and the effects of these changes on firms' strategies are discussed. The focus lies on the loosening of activity separation of financial intermediaries, asset securization. The interplay between increased competition in financial markets and imperfections on industrial markets are analyzed. The importance of market structures - for example economies of scope - is emphasized. Problems of the Belgian context are described. Directions for future analysis are also advised. |
