Tiivistelmä:In the last 20 years there have been two attempts to reform industrial relations. Both of them aimed to increase labour productivity. In the 1970s, the Donovan strategy was tried and failed. In the 1980s, Thatcherite strategy seems to be highly successful. It stresses market forces, the legislative framework and employee involvement. The connection between industrial relations reform and economic performance is examined.
