Tiivistelmä:It is not clear who will provide the skills to make personal computers (PCs) work more effectively at organizations, and who will provide the capabilities of weaving the disparate machines into the organizational computing environment: microcomputer managers, traditional management information systems executives, business unit managers, network specialists or teams made up from them. Microcomputer managers are beginning to discover that career advancement depends on more than just PC skills: information system and business knowledge is an equally important need to run effective company information systems with PCs. However, drifting into the company IS from a PC department is a difficult task.
