| Tiivistelmä: | It is well-known that the PERT average time formula is related to the Beta distribution assumption. The present note shows that if the formula is modified to use the median rather than the mode, then it becomes a good approximation independently of the distribution assumption. Finally the author emphasizes that the generalized formula can be applied in other cases as well. |
