Tiivistelmä: | South Korea has developed many export industries with technology and capital transferred from Japan. In spite of Korea's efforts to attract European and American investment in recent years, economic growth of South Korea depends largely on Japanese investment. Japanese firms are now finding Korea less attractive. They fear that any technology transferred to Korea will be simply taken over by the Korean. The other problem is the rigidly autocratic business environment in South Korea. Many Japanese fear that Korean employees would not be motivated to be creative or productive in the long run. It is not likely that many leading Japanese firms will initiate new direct investment projects or expand their operations there under the existing conditions. |
