| Tiivistelmä: | Gain from trade according to comparative advantage is defined as the potential cost of domestically producing import divided by the costs of export. These data are calculated for Soviet trade with the West in fuel for grain and machinery for the l98l-l985 period. Results show that gains from trade by trading natural gas for grain and machinery was substantial but exchange of crude oil for machinery was a loss. |
