| Tiivistelmä: | The self-assembly furniture market has diversified to include a wide range of products. The major sector is kitchens, but fitted bedrooms and miscellaneous living room and dining room furniture available in flat-pack form have been growing also in importance. Specifically the do-it-yourself /DIY/ sector is considered. Tables showing the DIY self-assembly furniture market and its distribution by sectors from 1984 to 1988 are presented showing that kitchen presents about 61 PC of the market in 1988. The market for self-assembly furniture in Great Britain has been largely retailer led, and the retailer mainly responsible is not a DIY retailer but MFI is the retailer concerned. An outlook of DIY sales of self-assembly furniture up to 1992 is given. |
