| Tiivistelmä: | Properties are derived pertaining to optimal allocations of servers and workloads in single-class, multiserver closed queueing network /CQN/. A particular workload is allocated to a set of servers. This set of servers can be partitioned into several multiserver stations. The determination of the optimal partition of several machine types into subgroups of pooled machines, and the optimal balanced or unbalanced workload per machine for the subgroups to maximise system throughout is addressed. Results pertaining to subnetworks in isolation are provided. These results are used to solve the optimal-configuration problem. |
