| Tiivistelmä: | The recruitment of engineering (and science) based graduates and their subsequent development to managerial status is discussed. The problems that organizations experience in the recruitment process are described and ways in which the success rate can be improved are suggested. A survey on graduate salaries and vacancies in 1988-89 is reported as a help to demonstrate the current situation. The competition for graduates is characterized. The selection factors are examined. Some financial aspects of recruitment are highlighted. New employees' expectations are analyzed. The role of career management is emphasized. |
