Tiivistelmä:Many R&D tasks are one-of-a-kind, and will have a unique purpose or objective; frequently this is most easily framed in the form of a question (or series of questions) to be answered by the work. Within this framework, quality R&D projects accomplish the defined objective of the research in a manner which is correct and reproducible, and efficient in budget and schedule. Some of the practices used to try to accomplish this general goal in projects are described. It is stated that the only way to pursue quality management within a research facility is by building a culture for quality. Goal definition and continuous, competent planning are essential.
