| Tiivistelmä: | Some effects of the changes in demand for industrial products are examined. The most important new trends in technological innovation are specified. The case of the Swiss aerospace industry is described and analyzed. The need of profound structural changes are demonstrated. Some strategic considerations are offered. The main characteristics of the life cycle of a typical aerospace program are highlighted. The program phases are identified. The managerial tasks to be performed in a structural change program are described: the selection of attractive market segments; the optimal positioning of the company; furnishing the technology; improving the global cost position using a cost structure model. |
